Things are changing. The way I use the internet has changed a lot over the years.

Anyway, without revealing too much about my future plans, I’m going to share with you all that I know have my own custom URL shortener. http://spncr.me

I will be using it as my primary shortener when I share things online which I plan on doing more of.

Long story short, yay!

This is just my plan. No stealing though.

So…

I want to build basically a CrunchBase style CMS / Lifestream / Blog – all in one.

Basically, it would allow me to add things to the CrunchBase part that matter to me. Anything from people I admire, restaurants I love, products I own, etc.

I’ll use many different datasources to pull in information about each item.

Then, I’d build the lifestream part which would basically just pull in content from RSS feeds of sites I use.

Each feed item would be able to be manually tagged with any of the items in the database. It might even try to auto tag them by reading the content of the lifestream item.

I could also write an ocasional blog entry which could also be tagged with this system.

The end result would basically be an awesome, multi-dimensional stream of everything I do (that has an RSS feed.)

So not only would you see everything I do in one easy to read stream. You could also search the database of things that I like. I’d be able to write simple reviews for those items, my opinions, etc. As well as view all the related lifestream items.

So, someone could search for Fraiche (an awesome FroYo shop in downtown Palo Alto) and they would see all the times I’ve checked in there on Foursquare/Gowalla, my tweets about it, my review on Yelp, etc.

Or maybe they could look a movie and see what I rated it on Flixter, when I watched it on Boxee, etc.

(I think I’ve said “etc” 5 time, woops!)

Anyway, what do you think?

Eventually I will be redoing this website with more of a focus on the awesome projects I’m working on as well as all the stuff I already do around the web.

As of know, you may have become aware that their are some members of the Schoeben family who are mentally allergic to fabric softeners. This is completely rational due to the obvious issues associated with such products.

While we, as a family, may have previously decided that we wouldn’t use fabric softener, I think it may be necessary to actually remove all traces of it from our house. We cannot control what people do with the things they find in our house. But, we can control what is in our house.

Hey! I realize I haven’t been updating this blog much. I am going to develop a new life stream instead that will import my online activity.

TechCrunch, the popular technology blog, hosts a conference every year called TechCrunch50 where they select 50 start-ups to launch there companies at the event.

I really want to go to this event but the tickets are very expensive—$2,995. Luckily, they are holding a contest, where users are asked to append the hastag #techcrunch50 to tweets about startups and technology to be entered to win a ticket to the event. There is a winner each day and so a total of 45 winners.

I tried many times to win and I gave up for a while. Then, I decided I would give it one more shot and so I wrote another tweet with the hashtag. Much to my surprise, I won!

However, there is still a problem. I can’t go alone. I can’t drive and I certainly don’t want to stay in a hotel alone. So, my dad needs to get a ticket.

We have a few options, I could buy a student ticket for $200 and my dad could use the ticket I won. I have asked Alex Miller (the guy winners are instructed to contact) if this is okay, but he hasn’t responded yet.

But, most likely, my dad will have to get his own ticket on his own. He could try entering to win just like I did. Or, he could ask around and see if any VC’s are willing to give him a ticket.

Anyone willing to hook us up with another ticket???

Will Steve Jobs be presenting at tomorrow Apple event. Steve Jobs has officially came back to work after his apparent liver transplant. He hasn’t made any public appearances yet; this would be his first time on stage since he announced he was going on medical leave.

I personally think that he will be giving a portion of the presentation. Someone else will probably start and then hand it over to Steve part of the way through.
