This morning Obama delivered a speech geared toward students. The days leading up to the event were filled with much controversy from various people.

The controversy seemed to die down by the time he gave his speech. There really isn’t anything controversial about it.

In his speech, the president urged students to preserver and keep trying. He stressed how important school work is and how lucky a lot of us are for having parents that went to college.

The speech particularly inspired me when he talked about working hard on your homework even when you don’t understand why you are doing a particular assignment. To paraphrase him, an assignment may seem useless, but if you try, you may discover that you have a hidden talent that will help you succeed later in life.
